Current Prayer Requests as of November 30, 2005:

Omiya Baptism -  Praise!  Celebration!!!  We’re going to have our first baptism this Christmas at the daughter church plant.  Fumiko Kawanishi has been studying the Bible with Megumi sensei for the past year.  Just a month ago, she asked Megumi sensei if she could get baptized this Christmas!  This will be the first baptism Megumi sensei will perform!  We’re all so excited for Kawanishi-san and are praying for her continued growth in the Lord!

Christmas Puppet Show - It’s really one of those times you think “Can we really pull this off?”    As my time is winding down here in Japan, I really wanted to do something special for the daughter church plant that they can have for years to come.  So, I assembled my building staff (translator, craftsman, artist) and got to work.  On Dec. 25 we are putting on a big Christmas Puppet show for the young’uns in Omiya.  This year we are hoping and praying for 30 children to come and hear the gospel message for the first time!  We’ve spent lots of time building relationships with people in Omiya, and now we are truly hoping for people to come for this special event.  As this project is bigger than I thought it would be, would you please join me in prayer for those 30 to come!  Also please pray for the team as they are busy slaving away, that everything will come together smoothly!  It’s a lot of work, but we’re excited (a bit nervous too).  It’s going to be great!

Speaking of Nerves - Yeah, so I’ve played guitar in front of a crowd before, I’ve been involved in orchestras, done skits on stage, even gave a message in the middle of a concert, and have not been nervous.  So what makes me nervous now?  Uh, singing a solo during our Christmas Gospel Choir concert!  Yeah, I’ve never been so nervous before!  It’s going to be really fun, but please pray for me and for Hiromi Ishii as we both have solos this year!  This is our big community event where many of those who would never step into church come and hear the Good News sung in their own language!  Please pray for those living in Omiya to attend, and for God to open hearts!

In a matter of months-
Wow, the New Year is quickly approaching, which means a big transition is headed my way.  Please pray for the last few months to be used wisely and that I have many chances to share with those I was privileged to build relationships with in sharing the Gospel.  It’s a busy season, and I know that it won’t end until I come home, but I long to finish strong here for Jesus!

Thank you everyone!  Blessings to you!!
